Voler – Thieves of Flight:
Aerial Dancers & Acrobats for Hire

Voler – Thieves of Flight Performance Ensemble began as a collaboration of acrobats and dancers who wanted to expand their skills in the air. The now renowned troupe of aerial acrobatic performers created Voler – Thieves of Flight while training with nationally recognized teacher, Lynn Coleman, in Kansas City in 2007. Their first performance season as professional acrobats and aerial dancers for hire was in 2008 where a strong presence at Kansas City events was established through venues and organizations including the Kansas City Fringe Festival, the Foundation and Crosstown Station.

Since 2007, Voler – Thieves of Flight has become a full production ensemble of more than just acrobats and aerialist dancers for hire. Collaborating with bands, videographers, artists and organizations, Voler performances are colorful and memorable. Voler – Thieves of Flight’s acrobatic performers have been featured nationally and internationally, and now you can hire them for your event! Simply use the “Add performer to Quote” button below.

Acrobatic Performance Services for Events:

  • Aerial Silks

Also known as aerial contortion, aerial ribbons, aerial silks, aerial tissues, ribbon or tissu, Voler’s aerial silk performers for hire will wrap, suspend, fall, swing, and spiral their bodies into and out of various acrobatic positions on a suspended fabric without the use of safety lines. Aerial silk performances are an exciting display of skill, athleticism, coordination and flexibility that will make your event truly memorable.

  • Aerial Lyra (Hoop)

A popular aerial art form where a steel ring about 36″ in diameter is suspended and aerialists will hang and create spinning shapes within the circle. This type of acrobatic performance is lovely as event ambiance as well as a featured act.

  • Aerial Net

Net performances are similar to the Hammock, however with the open weave of the netting, a different view of the acrobats may be seen. Voler also likes to present Sea-based stories and Mermaid tales using the net.

  • Aerial Carousel

An original aerial acrobatic act created by Voler performer, Jade Osborne, fabricated by Machine Head and sponsored by ArtsKC. The Carousel may support up to six acrobats at once, with multiple uses and options. Aerial silks or hammocks may be hung from the Carousel to add dimension and height to the event performance.

  • Aerial Hammock

Where aerial silks are hung upside down as a loop of fabric or hammock. Aerial silk performers may perform inside or outside of the hammock. Back-lighting adds to the ambiance of this acrobatic performance type. Hammock is recommended for longer event performances and shorter spaces (15′ and below) but is also stunning at a greater height.

  • Aerial Straps

Straps are an open aerial form where two ropes are suspended and the aerial dancer moves and hangs within. Straps are a fantastic circus party performance at a spinning lower height (20′ and below) as well as event ambiance.

  • Aerial Swings

This is the most popular form for aerial ambiance in clubs and bars. Acrobats will hang, sit and create shapes above the bar or audiences. This is most suitable for short ceilings (12′ and below).

  • Contortionists, Body Balancing, Acro Yoga, Fire Performers, Flow Artists, Stilt Walkers, Jugglers, Improvisation Dancers, Floor Movement and Character Appearances.
